2018 Alumni Reunion
April 21, 2018 — On a warm, sunny Saturday morning in April, alumni returned to campus for Packer's 136th Reunion. Academic Technology & Computer Science Department Head Greg Benedis-Grab kicked off the morning's festivities with an interactive presentation on Upper School Symposium course "Design for Change," which allowed students to use creative approaches to problem solving some of Packer's own design challenges.
The Joan Buehler Eisenstein '51 Award for Service to Packer, which recognizes an individual who demonstrates "outstanding generosity, leadership, and service to the School," was awarded to Lilla Smith '78 for her contributions as a former member of the Board of Trustees, a class agent, Reunion chair, and annual giving volunteer.
The Alumni Award of Honor — for "exemplifying the values inherent in a Packer education" — was given to Judith Bauman Barrett '58 IVAc, author of children's classics Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and Animals Should Definitely Not Wear Clothing, among several other works.
The Alumni Plate, awarded to the Reunion class with the highest attendance, went to the Class of 1988, celebrating their 30th reunion.
The Class of 1963 IVAc won the Champagne Challenge Cup for their contributions to annual giving.
Saturday evening's lively cocktail reception in the Blackburne Library rounded out Reunion weekend 2018.
