2004-05 Exhibition Calendar:

Opening exhibit: Sept. 13-October 29
"Formal Vision" Alumni artists Patty Cateura '81 and Derek Buckner '88

December -January
Exhibition:"Packer Community Portrait" A site-specific photographic installation of Packer student work created in collaboration with the internationally known artist, and Packer parent, Zeke Berman. Using Zeke Berman's unique optical darkroom process of photographing without the use of a traditional camera, Eric Baylin's photography students will create a series of portraits of members of the Packer community. Zeke has worked in similar ways with students at Cooper Union and Fordham University. Installation of the final group of portraits in the gallery will be in a site-specific, non-traditional manner.
Opening to be announced.

February 10- March 12th
"The Visual Arts Faculty Exhibition; Hosted by the Parent Association"
Featuring faculty members Eric Baylin, Elizabeth Eagle, Risa Glickman, Michael Miller, and Ken Rush . This is the annual exhibition that coincides with the Music Faculty Concert at 6:30 on Thursday, February 10th. The opening in the Carol Shen Gallery will follow the conclusion of the Music Faculty Concert.

April 11-May 13
Night Goblins -- The work of Megumi Nagai, curated by Packer English teacher Linda Gold. Exhibiting in both Tokyo and New York, Megumi Nagai's work merges both traditional Japanese forms with exquisitely personal motifs. This exhibition is the centerpiece of Packer's year-long curricular exploration of Japanese culture, traditions, and arts. Megumi will also have a weeklong teaching residency that is funded by the Mary Marsh Memorial Fund. Megumi is a long-time Packer Parent, and has volunteered in many lower school classes, where she has worked with the children in traditional Japanese origami, calligraphy, and Kimono.

May 18-June 9
"Sensational Seniors: The Class of 2005" -- The 2nd annual exhibition of the graduating class. This exhibit willcap the achievements of the Class of 2005 in the visual arts. The exhibition is curated by the seniors.
