On December 19, 2018, sophomore Jordana S. scored her 1,000th point as a member of Packer’s girls varsity basketball team. Her accomplishment was celebrated with the presentation of a Packer Pelicans 1,000 Point Club basketball before the team’s January 16 game.
“It’s a rare feat, let alone to do it as a sophomore without as many games as people who have done it their senior year,” said Coach Russell Tombline at the presentation.
“It’s a huge honor to have accomplished one of my biggest dreams I have had since I began playing basketball,” said Jordana, after the presentation. “Being recognized...continues to backup my view that Packer is an inclusive school that supports every single person who is a part of its community. I could not have reached this goal without my teachers, peers, family, coaches, and most importantly, my teammates.”
