Packer Launches Partnership with the GO Project to Expand Educational Access

Packer has partnered with the GO Project, becoming their newest host site in Brooklyn. We recently celebrated this exciting new joint effort with a joyful ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by GO students and families, along with staff and trustees from the program.

For more than 50 years, the nonprofit GO Project has partnered with independent schools across New York City to help close educational gaps for public-school students through year-round academic programs and social-emotional support. With Packer joining as a host site, the organization expands its reach to more than 800 students and families across Brooklyn and Manhattan.

Packer will open our doors on Saturdays and over the summer to host GO’s free, high-quality educational programming for local public-school students. The initiative reflects Packer’s long-standing commitment to community engagement and our strategic priority to expand community partnerships that reflect our values and broaden contexts for student learning.

“Our mission guides everything we do,” said Dr. Jennifer Weyburn, Head of School.  “Partnering with GO allows us to extend that mission beyond our own community into the largest public school district in America, and be a part of more students and families achieving their educational goals. It is profoundly rewarding.”

Dr. Weyburn describes GO’s model as “a powerful, research-based approach that supports the whole child and family year-round.” She emphasized that the collaboration is “a living expression of who we strive to be as a school community—taking action with purpose and heart to foster belonging and expand access to educational opportunity.”

Gayle Villani, Executive Director of the GO Project, called the moment “a celebration of possibility, growth, and shared commitment to educational equity,” noting that Packer joins a network of partner independent schools including Grace Church, St. Luke’s, Berkeley Carroll, LREI, and Avenues.

Packer is thrilled to join the GO Project and build a partnership rooted in purpose, impact, and expanded opportunity.
