2018 Winter Strings Concert Features Beethoven, Black Violin and More

Packer students in Fourth through Twelfth Grade performed a Winter Strings Concert for the Packer community on December 20, 2018. Under the direction of Lucas Maia, they presented a musical program of selections ranging from classical to contemporary.

The Lower School and Middle School strings classes performed their semester repertoire, which included original pieces such as "Mystic Caravan" as well as some familiar classics such as themes from Beethoven's "Pastoral Symphony." The Upper School portion of the concert featured a diverse repertoire, which included original works composed by woman composers, Rimski-Korsakov's "Scheherazade" (arr. for String orchestra), Black Violin's hip-hop song "A Flat," and more.
