This fall, the Carol Shen Gallery showcased The Threads Within, a remarkable exhibit by Teri Gandy-Richardson. Utilizing worn Levi’s denim scraps that have been dissected, twisted, tied, and molded, Gandy-Richardson weaves history, and cultural weight into her abstract compositions. A Brooklyn-based artist and yoga teacher, Gandy-Richardson's work tells the story of the personal cost to those who labored to produce the rustic fabric, and those who wear it today.
