We recently celebrated Packer’s youngest artists with “Everyday Magic: Curiosity and Creativity from The ELC!” The first-of-its-kind exhibition showcases the imaginative work of “Little Packer”—students from PK3 through Kindergarten—in the Shen Gallery at “Big Packer.” 

In the ELC, children represent what they see, feel, and know, through their creations, exploring composition, color design, and surface space in the process. Taking the time to re-create an experience they have had through art deepens their learning. “The common thread that links this diverse collection of works,” say the curators, “is that they were all made when children were given time–arguably the most precious gift of childhood–to make freely and experiment with ideas, materials, and tools.”

At a lively opening reception, guests were delighted by the wide variety of media, including sketchbooks, wire sculptures, paintings, dioramas, informative brochures, and even video. Kudos and thanks to art teacher Robin and the whole ELC team for inspiring such rich learning and art-making.
