At Packer, students traditionally write Valentine’s Day cards for our alumni celebrating their 50th up to their 75th reunions! Our Alumni are always excited to receive a valentine from a current student to learn more about their experiences today, and our students enjoy learning about what Packer was like in years past. The common bond between students past and present is a love for The Packer Collegiate Institute.
We have also recently used the card exchange as an opportunity to invite our alumni back to campus to meet students and share memories about their own time here, as well as stories about the Brooklyn Female Academy, the fire that destroyed it, and how Harriet Packer came to save the institution which founded the Packer we know today.
This year, Alumni Board President Emeritus Ellin Rosenzweig ’52 and Alumni Board President Geoff Brewer ’82 visited campus to share their stories and the history of Packer with our students. See a few photo of this year’s Valentine’s Project below!
