Hello Packer alumni,
I hope that you, your family, and your friends are healthy, safe, and well. So many of our lives have changed in the past month. For Packer, the campus has closed, and our students have started remote learning. Our amazing faculty are working to make sure that we are providing the educational and social-emotional support that makes Packer such an impactful place for our students.
Whether you are like me, cooped up in an apartment with a toddler, or are facing far more serious challenges, my thoughts are with you. I would like to make sure that in this difficult time we are supporting and helping one another and everyone in the Packer community. Please see the information below about how you can help. Email me at email@example.com to volunteer.
Connect with One Another
Please reach out to your classmates and find out how they’re doing. If you want to do this as an official volunteer, please reach out to me.
Teach a Virtual Class
As we look for ways to connect as a community, let us know if you have a skill to offer in an informal virtual class for other alumni and possibly other members of the Packer community. The following are a few examples of how you can share your expertise online:
- Wellness: Meditation/mindfulness, yoga, pilates, Zumba and other workout classes
- Performance: music, theater, or dance
- Fine arts, DIY, crafts, or face-mask making
- Cooking class
- Kid activities: story time, a sing-a-long
Support Packer Students
We are preparing to send our well wishes to the Class of 2020. If you’d like to participate in a video we are preparing or would like to send a message to the class, please contact me.
Many of our students may need mentorship, professional development, or support learning about colleges and universities as our juniors can’t visit campuses in person. Let me know if you think you can help!
As we observe an increased demand for financial aid for our students, donor support is more important than ever. Please consider making a gift to the Packer Fund today.
I am actively reaching out each day to members of our alumni community. As I will be working from home for the near future, I want to make sure you have my cell number, which is (917) 494-0358. I welcome your outreach and would like to hear how you’re doing. You can also send texts or reply to this email.
I hope that we’ll have a chance to reconnect in person soon. Be on the lookout for more information about our virtual offerings.
I wish you and your family good health and safety.
