Hopefully you have had a chance to drop by Packer and see what’s happening here. If you haven’t joined us recently, here are a few events you may have missed.
Dr. Jennifer Weyburn's Installation
There have already been a series of stories covering the October 18 installation of our new Head of School, Dr. Jennifer Weyburn. If you haven’t had a chance, please take a moment to watch the presentation and read Jen’s remarks. Many of our alumni came to watch the installation and to play a part in this momentous occasion. Here are a few photos below.
Lillian Rodriguez Lopez ’75 was our 108th Founder’s Day speaker on October 28. Lillian shared her experiences as a Packer student in the 1970s and as a scholarship recipient and the formative education she received at Packer that helped lead her to her career as an advocate and representative for the Latinx community. Sixth Grade Community Engagement
On November 5, our Sixth Grade students visited Food Bank For New York City in the Bronx, which helps warehouse and distribute free food for over 1.5 million New Yorkers each and every year. Our students helped pack up donated cat food for those people in need who may not be able to afford to feed their furry friends. Francisco Tezen ’93 is the Chief Development Officer at Food Bank For New York City and an Alumni Board member here at Packer.
This new event on November 18 offered our college-age alumni a chance to visit us for some cider, pumpkin pie, and apple donuts! Not only did they catch up with one another, they had a chance to see some of their favorite teachers and roam the halls again. If you couldn't make it this year, we hope to see you next year!
