We were so grateful to have two alumnae visit us via Zoom to talk to Packer students. On Tuesday, February 15, Jamillah Hoy-Rosas ’94 and Stacey Toussaint ’92 spoke about their experiences as Black women at Packer and their successful careers. Jamillah Hoy-Rosas is the mother of two Packer students and she is the Vice President of Clinical Operations & Program Design at One Drop: Better Health Today. Stacey Toussaint is the Founder and Managing Director of her own business: Inside Out Tours and Events.
In her introduction, Olivia R. ’22 remarked that "it's one thing to hear about Black history and contributions in the past, but it's another thing to hear about the amazing things that Black individuals are currently doing".
Both women talked about their involvement at Packer from student clubs to how they continued giving back and stay engaged with Packer today. They also spoke to how their lives were shaped by their identity as Black women, and how their path from Packer lead to their current success.
