Tené Howard '97
Tené Howard '97 will become the Executive Director of Sadie Nash, a non-profit dedicated to promoting leadership and activism among young women.
In addition to being a Packer alumna, Tené has served as the school's inaugural Director of Global Programs and Community Engagement. In this role, she has helped build programs that now further define a Packer education.
Packer students are taught to see themselves as active citizens — locally, nationally, and globally. From Preschool through Upper School, students engage in projects that address a variety of issues. For example, each year our Seniors participate in a class trip to Baltimore, where they engage with local nonprofits, including soup kitchens and Habitat for Humanity. Our Tenth Graders participate in an international trip that also focuses on learning from and partnering with local non-governmental organizations.
The work Tené has done with us at Packer has meant so much to our students, and we know that she will continue making an impact on the lives of young women through her leadership at Sadie Nash.
Francisco Tezén '93
Francisco Tezén '93 has been appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of A Better Chance.
A Better Chance is a national nonprofit established in 1963 to identify, recruit, and develop leaders among people of color, and connect them with educational opportunities. Packer has had a long relationship with educational access programs like A Better Chance, which support our commitment to diversity by providing great applicants.
Francisco has been a member of the Alumni Board since 2017, and serves on the Fundraising Committee. In his previous role as Chief Development Officer at Food Bank for New York City he often welcomed Packer students as volunteers.
We are excited to see Francisco’s continued success, and to have a Packer graduate at the head of an important nonprofit. As we continue to partner with A Better Chance, we look forward to witnessing his impact firsthand.
