Alumni in the News: Taja Cheek ’07

Taja Cheek ’07 is an experimentalist, multi-instrumentalist, composer, songwriter — and Packer alumna. She has received accolades since her first album “L’Rain” debuted in 2017, and in June, Taja released her second album, “Fatigue.”

Taja's work recently received a “Best New Music” review from Pitchfork which “[highlights] the finest music of the current moment.”

In her feature in the The New York Times, she mentioned that she studied “piano and cello, and joined a Baroque recorder quartet in high school,” adding that, “I hated practicing, but then I got really into it.”

We are excited to see her continued success. You can listen to her new album “Fatigue” on Spotify and read any of her recent coverage below.
