Packer's approach to Learning Support begins with knowing our students, honoring who they are as individuals, and understanding their interests, strengths, and challenges.
Student Support
Students who are valued and supported as individual learners are more immersed in their learning and are more likely to feel capable of succeeding at challenges.
Packer teachers meet students where they are in their educational journey. However, when a child needs additional help to meet academic challenges or to strengthen executive function, our Learning Support team helps provide the resources that child needs to flourish.
We believe in open dialogue about learning so that we can support children and families most effectively and address any challenges proactively. Using the students' interests, learning styles, and individual goals as part of our lesson planning, our learning specialists provide direct instruction to students, helping them develop deeper understanding and teaching them to advocate for themselves. We also work closely with families to offer tools and structures that will ultimately help students manage their learning independently.
Packer’s Learning Support Program consists of a multidisciplinary team of learning specialists, administrators, school psychologists, and school nurses. We also support our students’ social-emotional wellness, and we partner closely with Packer’s Health and Wellness programs.
