Engaging with children and families is one of the greatest joys of being an educator and school leader.
Leadership
From our Head of School
Welcome to our website, where I hope you will learn a bit about what makes Packer unique! Our school has been a part of the Brooklyn Heights community since 1845, and while it has transformed over the centuries, we draw on a rich legacy to serve our 1000+ students in grades PreK through 12 today.
A Packer education is designed to empower students to become knowledgeable, empathetic, and engaged members of an interconnected and dynamic world. We are exceptionally proud of our academic program, which balances rigorous study with a student-centered and inquiry-based approach. From preschool through high school, Packer classrooms foster both intellectual development and social-emotional growth.
In short, we focus on both head and heart, and you can feel that commitment to balance in our halls. Our community is scholarly and motivated as well as joyful and open-hearted. We take a holistic approach to health and wellness, knowing that relationships and a sense of belonging are key to academic success.

Our students benefit from our unique Brooklyn Heights campus, which is both beautifully historic and fully modernized. The Early Learning Center, a state-of-the-art building designed for our Preschool and Kindergarten students, is located at 100 Clinton Street, one short block from our main entrance at 170 Joralemon Street. The Garden House, a purpose-built home for our Lower School, will open in fall 2025.
I invite you to learn more about the Packer community by exploring our website and finding stories from our classrooms on social media. Meet our Admissions team, attend an Open House, take a tour of our campus, and get to know the extraordinary people that make up the Packer community.
Thank you for your interest in Packer.
