Know Your Pelicans
What is your favorite thing about Packer?
It's hard to choose one thing — but my favorite event is probably the Dance Concert. It is such an amazing example of student leadership and creativity. I also feel deeply connected to this Packer tradition because it was such an important event to me while I was a student here.
Describe a favorite or memorable moment in your classroom at Packer.
One favorite experience so far was a project I did with the Class of 2016 during the senior class trip to Baltimore. We spent a day getting to know a group of local youth leaders, and the next day, we joined them in building a playground. Working alongside a community partner on a project like that one was awesome.
Name a book/artwork/piece of music that changed your life and explain how.
Bill T. Jones's dance piece "Still/Here." I saw it with my dance class when I was in the Upper School and it totally rocked my world. I had always known on an intuitive level that dance could tell a story, but this was the first piece I had seen that told such an amazing story through the movements of the body. It was so impactful!
What is something that most Packer people wouldn't know about you?
Most Packer people would not know that I am obsessed with crossword puzzles. My ideal day would be sitting in a sunny room with a cup of coffee and a crossword!
