Know Your Pelicans
As a member of the Food Services team, what do you do for Packer?
I help the younger students with their snacks and lunches and at school events, and I make the granola and salad dressings from scratch in the kitchen.
Tell us about a specific time you found your job especially rewarding.
Students feel comfortable talking to me about anything. Sometimes I give them creative ideas for how to go about things. Once, an Upper School soccer player was having a hard time. She was worrying: "We're not going to win [our game], we're not going to win!" I encouraged her, and the team ended up winning!
Also, when Middle School students have their Top Chef competition, I get to judge the food they make.
What's something you hope to teach our students?
I'd like to take all the encouragement I give the students in the Commons to the field. It would be fun to help out in the athletic department — I love soccer, basketball, and softball.
What is your favorite space at Packer?
I love to be in the Puppies [Pre-K Threes] Classroom. Everything is so tiny — even the students! And they are so accepting of everyone.
