As a college counselor what do you do for Packer?
I support students and families in navigating the college selection and application process.
Tell us about a time you learned something from our students.
I am constantly inspired by Packer students. As a college counselor, I feel incredibly lucky to get to sit with juniors and seniors and get to know them individually. Hearing about what matters to them, the things they value, the hard times they have endured, or the joys they have experienced often has a profound impact on me. I leave some of these conversations inspired by their willingness to take risks, their abundant positivity, and their ability to recognize how they have grown and changed. I am crazy proud of our students.
Besides your subject, what’s something you hope to teach your students?
I hope that through the college process, they learn to embrace the opportunity to engage in self-reflection and to make choices that truly fit who they are. Those are skills/qualities that most of us could employ more than we do!
If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?
Well, I wish I could make the Knicks win a little more often! But that feels incredibly unlikely, so I guess I’d want a superpower that would somehow allow me to have more time. I would love to have more time to read and go to movies!
