What do you teach? What is one of your favorite parts of the curriculum?
I teach 9th grade Physics. I like the lab practicums in which students have to use the skills and knowledge they have developed to make predictions about physical events. I also really like the Physics of the Subway project. In this project students ride the subway and collect data and then must apply their knowledge of physics in order to analyze the motion of the subway!
Besides your subject, what’s something you hope to teach your students?
I hope to teach my students that learning is lifelong and there really is value in trying to figure things out.
What is something that most Packer people wouldn't know about you?
I worked as a volunteer on organic farms in Australia and New Zealand for about six months.
If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?
I would love to be able to fly. I once went skydiving and for a moment it really felt like I was flying (except for the fact that I was going straight down). We mostly exist in two dimensions. I am a scuba diver and one of the things I love most about it is the three dimensionality that we don’t get in terrestrial life. I would love to be like a bird and experience that three dimensionality.
