Know Your Pelicans
What is something that most Packer people would not know about you?
Most people wouldn’t know that I have spent the bulk of my professional life teaching and working at Packer. I started here as a young teacher and loved it so much I never left! In fact, all three of my own children went to Packer and two were lifers. I’ve been here so long that I am now interviewing children whose parents I taught.
What’s one thing you love about your colleagues?
I’ve made many friends in my years here at Packer and what I love most about these people is the kindness they have shown me. They have been with me through the highs and lows of life. I have always felt safe, nurtured, and welcomed by the terrific people in the Packer community.
What is your favorite space on campus and why?
As a former First Grade teacher and lifelong lover of books, reading and all things in print, the libraries at Packer are delightful escapes for me. I thoroughly enjoy visiting the Hart Library and seeing the youngest learners with their heads in a book and then seeing them years later in the Blackburne Library still absorbed in a book. Our amazing teachers, families and librarians do a wonderful job of instilling a lifelong love of reading in our students.
