Feldman ’14 Joins Pelican 1,000-point Club

Packer junior achieves rare scoring benchmark, lauded as a team player

Entering the game versus Brooklyn Friends School on Monday, January 14, Ethan Feldman ’14 had amassed 989 career points as a Packer Pelican. Needing only 11 more to reach 1,000, he scored the first 11 points of the game.

As reported on January 15 in the New York Daily News:

After having already scored nine points midway through the first quarter of Monday’s game against Brooklyn Friends, Packer Collegiate junior guard Ethan Feldman dashed out ahead of the defense and received a pass from a teammate. Driving to the hoop, Feldman made an open left-handed layup.

Immediately after Feldman’s basket, Packer Collegiate athletic director Darrin Fallick interrupted the game and brought Feldman to center court. With applauding classmates, faculty and family members in the stands, Fallick presented Feldman with a ball signed by his teammates and coaching staff.

The in-game ceremony — a brief interruption of Packer’s 70-56 win over Brooklyn Friends — was a way to celebrate Feldman reaching 1,000 career points.

After presenting Ethan with the ceremonial signed ball, Mr. Fallick remarked that even though Ethan is a prolific scorer, he still “puts his teammates first.”

In breaking the 1,000-point mark, Ethan Feldman joins alumni Pelicans Chase Licata ’01 and Jeffrey Jordan ’85 in the 1,000-point club.
