Middle & Upper School Admissions
Open House Registration and Applications for admissions to Packer's Middle and Upper School for 2017-18 will be available on Tuesday September 6, 2016. If you have specific questions, please contact the Admissions Office at (718) 250-0385.
Dear Prospective Families:
Admissions procedures at Packer are designed to enable our Admissions Committee to identify students who will thrive in our school environment. We welcome applications from bright, motivated, creative students who have demonstrated a spirit of positive citizenship.
Our major entry point for new students to the Upper School is 9th Grade, and typically, Packer welcomes 25-35 new ninth graders each fall. We have limited spaces for new students in Middle School (Grades 5 through 8) and in Grades 10 and 11 in the Upper School. Therefore, we schedule interviews for candidates only when we are sure that openings in those grades are likely. Regardless, we ask that you move forward with the admissions process by completing your application and arranging to have school reports, teacher recommendations, and test scores sent to Packer. If spaces do become available, we will begin to make calls to schedule interviews.
If you know you would like to apply to Packer, please visit our Apply Today page, which contains links to our online application, and review our Application Procedures and Checklist (PDF), which will take you through the steps and deadlines of the application process.
When we receive the Parent portion of the application plus the application fee, we will call to schedule your child for an interview appointment.
If you are interested in visiting Packer, please consider attending one of our scheduled Open Houses this fall, where you will have a chance to tour the school, meet our faculty, students, and administration, and directly observe the dynamic energy that fills our classrooms and hallways.
Enjoy your tour through our website, and please contact us directly if you have any questions or concerns.
