THE CAROL SHEN GALLERY
The Carol Shen Gallery’s mission is to enrich, diversify, and broaden the artistic experience of the Packer community. Through exhibitions, gallery talks, visiting artist programs, and other appropriate vehicles, the gallery will provide thoughtful and challenging visual arts experiences for Packer. These exhibitions will seek to reach beyond the walls of physical gallery space by encouraging organized and informal discourse, interdisciplinary and multicultural education, as well as quiet viewing and contemplation.
2015-16 Exhibition Information on Curators' Blog
A committee of parents, alumni, faculty and staff is responsible for determining the exhibition schedule each year. This committee includes artists, gallery owners, and art collectors in the Packer community.
Friends of the Shen family have also established the Carol Lee Shen Memorial Art Book Collection, which is housed in the Blackburne Library. This is a growing collection of books about the visual arts and visual artists.
The gallery and the book collection are funded by the Carol Shen Memorial Fund. If you would like to make a gift to support the gallery or the book collection, please contact Shriya Bhargava-Sears, Development Associate, at (718) 250-0228 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
