Packer views computer technology as a powerful tool to support and enrich teaching and learning. We believe technology should be woven seamlessly into a student's education, enhancing curriculum across disciplines and grade levels, and providing students with the skills to effectively use computer technology when they graduate. The abundant technological resources found at Packer facilitate collaboration, innovation, expression, understanding and exploration. In the hands of creative and thoughtful faculty and students, technology strengthens our vibrant and reflective learning community.
Our philosophy about educational technology is realized through technology-rich classrooms in the Lower School and a Laptop Program in the Middle and Upper Schools. As technology becomes ubiquitous throughout the campus, the practical applications and pedagogical opportunities offered by computers energize learning, grounding it in best practices while freeing it from schedules and physical spaces. Learning is pervasive and ongoing, prevalent in many interactions among students, faculty, parents, administration, staff, alumni as well as members of the extended Packer community.
