Packer Robotics Team Earns Prizes, Publicity at LEGO Event

The Packer Robotics Team competed against 39 teams from
across Manhattan at the First LEGO League Manhattan qualifying event at City
College.
Packer placed 3rd in technical design and robot
performance, earning them two guaranteed spots in the citywide tournament at
the Javits Center in March.
“Team Bob,” as the Packer team members call themselves, is
made up of 36 students from the Lower and Middle School participated along with
3 head coaches, 2 Upper School assistant coaches, and 1 Middle School assistant
coach.
“We have a lot
to be proud of,” says Maureen Reilly, head coach and 3rd Grade
teacher. “The kids gave three research presentations, four technical presentations, participated
in 16 robot rounds, gave out 500 buttons, and danced the Macarena!”
The team was also interviewed for a feature television news
story on NY1.
