A Joyful Celebration of Lower School Memories:
4th Grade Graduation
June 3, 2010
“Today is a celebration of one of our core values — joy —
and the incredibly joyful moments that punctuate a year,” said Andrea Kelly,
Head of the Pre and Lower School, at the fourth annual graduation ceremony
on June 3.
Children from the graduating 4th Grade wrote and
performed original skits about their fondest memories of Lower School,
including classroom hi-jinks, and field trips to Ashokan Field Campus, the
Brooklyn Bridge, and the Wyckoff House.
They concluded the performance with a bittersweet rendition
of “The Circle Game,” a song about growing up and moving on.
After presenting graduation certificates to each student,
Ms. Kelly praised the children for “rising to the challenge.” She thanked
assembled parents and grandparents “for sharing your wonderful children with
us.”
Present in the audience was Middle School Head Noah
Reinhardt, to whom Ms. Kelly presented the rising 5th Grade class.
“They are ready for the academic challenge of Middle School,” she said. “They
are a wonderful group; receive then with open arms.”
